JOB TITLE Shopper Attendant

Essential Job Functions
Promote trust and respect among associates.
Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and be able to respond to questions and make suggestions about products.
Greet and invite customers to use Self-Checkout, anticipate customer's needs, provide assistance and thank them for shopping with us.
Demonstrate new features to customers.
Report pricing and Self-Checkout discrepancies to the Manager on Duty.
Responsible for reducing the amount of customer interventions at Self-Checkout.
Understand the Point of Sale (POS) system, acceptable payment types and various checkout best practices.
Display a positive attitude.
Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.
Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
Collaborate with team members to encourage teamwork.
Report all safety risks or issues, and illegal activity: including robbery, theft or fraud.
Adhere to all local, state, federal laws and company guidelines.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Always required to have access to a phone, able to read and understand operating instructions for equipment in the store such as electronic cash register, able to operate a cash register for up to 8 hours or longer, able to lift 25 pounds at least once during shift and have good oral communication skills.
Must be able to perform basic math calculations to make change, complete shift reports and account for a variety of products during vendor check in.
