Location: Bowling Green, KY Category: Faculty Posted On: Mon Nov 27 2023 Job Description: The WKU Department of Social Work invites applications for a full-time, nine-month tenure-eligible faculty appointment at the rank of pedagogical assistant or pedagogical associate professor.
The anticipated start date is August 12, 2024.
Duties and Responsibilities The appointee will teach undergraduate courses on behalf of the Department of Social Work.
Courses are offered in both hybrid and online formats, and the successful candidate must be able to teach in the core area of social work practice and the additional core area of either research or policy.
In addition to teaching and university/public service duties, the position will involve BSW program director leadership activities such as accreditation, curriculum development, recruitment, admissions, and mentorship of full and part-time faculty.
Job Requirements: Earned Ph.
D.
Social Work, Doctor of Social Work (DSW), or Master of Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program.
At least 2 years of post-master's social work practice experience.
Demonstrated experience utilizing alternative modes of instructional delivery to include both synchronous and asynchronous web-based courses.
Demonstrated experience engaging with individuals across multiple cultures, disciplines, and educational/professional backgrounds.
Developed and well-defined teaching philosophy.
Evidenced record of teaching effectiveness.
