Position Summary
Performs the necessary functions and/or activities within the department to accomplish the daily requirements as a Courier for Med Center Health entities.
Collects, transports, distributes, prepares and delivers US Mail, medical records, x-rays, medical equipment, interoffice mail, etc.
throughout the facility and to and from Med Center Health entities.
Minimum Qualifications
Work Experience
Previous mail processing experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Education
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Certifications/Licensure
Motor vehicle record check required and will be performed annually.
Valid Driver's License required.

Operates company vehicle to collect, sort and deliver US and Interoffice Mail for Med Center Health entities.
Drives company vehicle to collect and deliver mail.
Maintains records of collections and deliveries in accordance to department procedure.
Adheres to driving laws and regulations and assures safe operation of vehicle.
Conducts general maintenance checks on company vehicle.
Reports maintenance issues.
Maintains record of maintenance checks.
Collects, sorts and delivers US and Interoffice Mail for all entities of Med Center Health.
Picks up box and bulk US Mail from US Postal Service.
Uses the automated mail processing machine to prepare US Mail and bulk mailings.
Follows the United States Postal Regulations to prepare for mailing.
Determines and applies appropriate postage amounts, sorts bulk mailings, folds and inserts letters, and completes appropriate paperwork.
Prepares US Mail and delivers to Post Office by utilizing automated mail processing machines.
Ensures security of mail.
Properly prepares certified mail.
Answers and logs telephone requests and dispatches to appropriate personnel.
Responds to emergency/stat deliveries as needed.
Inspects U.
S.
and interoffice mail for inaccurate or incomplete addresses, suspicious materials and provides education to employees as needed.
Follows proper procedures when suspicious items are encountered.
