Location: Bowling Green, KY Category: Featured Jobs Posted On: Mon Aug 14 2023 Job Description: The Senior Accountant will work closely with our Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting to monitor and record all cash transactions within Banner.
This position also assists with annual closing activities to ensure accurate annual financial statements and related schedules.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Monitor all cash account activity by: 1)timely posting of transactions to the general ledger system, 2)determine proper posting of electronic fund transfers (EFTs) and cash transmittals from the Office of Student Billing and Collections, 3)initiate ACH and wire transfers upon request, 4)prepare EFT forms for new vendors, and 4)reconcile bank statements on a monthly basis Assist the Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting with year-end closing tasks including preparing audit schedules for WKU, WKYU-FM, and WKYU-TV Prepare and manage accounts receivable of all University foundations, including professorships and other reimbursable items.
Assist with daily activities of the administrative accounting department, including ad hoc reports and projects as assigned by management.
Job Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting At least 3 years of accounting experience (a combination of relevant accounting experience and/or acquired professional certifications may be considered in lieu of experience).
Additional Information: Salary Range: $55,000 - $60,000 Kentucky state law requires all public institutions of postsecondary education to conduct pre-employment criminal background checks to determine suitability for employment.
